Occupational Therapy / Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
In our clinics, our occupational therapists specialize in the treatment of hand and upper extremity problems. Injury may range from traumatic (such as amputations, fractures, and tendon lacerations) to non-traumatic (such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and tendonitis). Working closely with your doctor, the occupational therapist will evaluate your problem(s) and provide the necessary treatment for your diagnosis. This may include regaining movement; strength and coordination; scar management; swelling control; splinting; and instruction in proper positioning and adaptive equipment in order to increase your functional abilities.
